Marriages at St. Matthias Church
St. Matthias Parish Church is an attractive Victorian building belonging to the Church of England. It was renovated in 2007 and now combines the character of it's age and the flexibility of a modern building. We hope that any couple getting married here will find the service to be an uplifting and special start to a long married life.
There are a number of things you need to think about however, if you intend to be married here:
-
It is a place of worship
Yes the building is attractive, has an aisle to walk down, bells that can be rung and the photos will be nice. But you will make promises before God, prayers will be said, and worship songs will be sung. It will be a loss to you if you neglect to take the spiritual implications of this wonderful day into consideration.
-
Do you live within the Parish Boundaries?
Residing in Burley Parish plays a part in you being able to be married at St. Matthias Church. You can find the streets within Burley Parish Boundaries by clicking the link.
-
Have either of you been married before?
It may not be possible for you to be married here if that is the case. You will have to speak to the Vicar - Revd. Keith Trout to discuss this. Please come to a morning service and introduce yourselves. (Go to Church Services for service times etc.)
-
How much does it cost?
The cost of a wedding varies depending on what you want to include on the day, ie bells, flowers, organ.
If you have thought about these issues and want to be married at St. Matthias, come along to a morning service and introduce yourselves to the Vicar - Keith Trout.
